Agrigento to Palermo stop: Corleone and Platani River Valley scenic drive

Today you are greeted at your hotel in Agrigento and driven to the interior of Sicily in North direction for an off the beaten track experience. Throughout this suggestive scenic drive you will admire several little Villages and will enjoy local life as real Sicilians do. We will drive through the Platani River Valley admiring rural landscapes surrounded by the Sikan Mounts and crossing several little Villages: Santo Stefano Quisquina, Bivona, Alessandria della Rocca, Cianciana, Raffadali…
the main economy of all these towns is based on agricultural products. In accordance with the Driver you will stop into one of these Villages where you will have the opportunity to have a lunch (not included, to be paid directly on the spot) based on typical products such as cheeses, cold cuts, pasta and vegetables.
In the afternoon we will visit the town of Corleone, famous all over the world (or perhaps infamous) for its Mafia, being the town in which some well-known clans had their headquarters (the Clan dei Corleonesi). The name of the town was used as the adopted surname of the title character in Francis Ford Coppola’s movie, The Godfather.
Then to the near Ficuzza for a sightseeing tour of the Village including the Royal Palace (external view), once used as hunting lodge by Ferdinand IV of Bourbon.
Later we will continue to Palermo.
